Experience is the heart of travel. Engaging the senses is what transports one from the world they know to the world they travel. The changing scenery paints an image while sounds write the song. How I Became a Travel Writer
Several years ago at a business conference, one of the speakers said to me, “A life worth living is a life worth recording.” As he told me about the notebooks that fill space in his bookshelves, he explained his why. The journals are something to look back on. You can celebrate victories, relive the good times and learn from the struggles. His hope was that someday his kids would flip through those weathered pages and do the same.
When I was younger, I spent a lot of time journaling. However, along with the years so went the recording of my daily life. His statement was a reminder. Still, it took me nearly a decade to take his advice. Today, I write to remember but I also write to share. Travel brings me joy and, if you are here, it probably brings you joy too. My hope is that my experiences will help guide you on your journey and inspire you to discover new places.
